Juilliard fills Roger Tapping’s giant shoes
NewsThe Juilliard String Quartet has a new violist, Molly Carr.
She replaces the legendary Roger Tapping who died in January.
Molly, who is presently isolating with Covid-19, was previously violist of the Iris Trio. She continues to play as the Carr-Petrova Duo. She lives in Harlem with husband Oded Hadar.

Congratulations to Molly, who is a kind, thoughtful individual and marvelous string player. She will make a very fine addition.
I guessed this outcome and told her so at an Escher Qt post-concert party a month ago.
Her website, which is extensive, seems to say nothing about what viola she is playing and is photographed with. Maybe some insider knows?
Wonderful player. Filling Roger’s shoes will be some feet.
