French-US pianist dies in car crash
UncategorizedThe well-known voice coach and pianist Aymeric Dupré la Tour was killed on Sunday morning after a crash with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Madison, Ct.
Aymeric, originally from Lyon, was 49.
A harpsichordist with a Juilliard DMA, he was director of music at First Church Congregational in Fairfield and organist at Congregation Mishkan Israel in Hamden. He was also staff accompanist at Oberlin Conservatory, Baldwin Wallace-Conservatory (OH), and the International School for the Arts (Niagara).
He recently coached the soprano Jūratė Švedaitė for concerts with with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra
A small correction–Madison, Connecticut.
Norman, you may want to double-check the location of the crash: I-95 does not run through Wisconsin. (It runs along the East Coast from Maine to Florida.)
Such a profound loss…my deepest condolences to his family and friends.
He was a classmate at Oberlin. A talented – and very funny – guy. Sad news.
