Death of ‘one of the most distinctive American opera composers’
RIPWe have been informed that Henry Mollicone died last week after a long illness. Henry was 76.
He wrote a number of one-act operas, of which The Face on the Barroom Floor was widely performed.

Like so many others, he started out as a Leonard Bernstein assistant.
I went to school with Henry and also spent a summer with him in Tanglewood. One of the most memorable nicest people I ever knew. I am sad to learn that he is no longer with us.
