Ruth Leon recommends…Aspen Armchair Concerts
Ruth Leon recommendsAspen Armchair Concerts
Two more lovely chamber music concerts from the Aspen Music Festival and School this week. On April 11, this coming Monday, pianist Orion Weiss (photo) will be playing Bach’s fiendishly difficult Goldberg Variations.
On Tuesday, we’re promised a variety of saxophone music with Samuel Williams. In 2013 and 2014, Sam was awarded the Saxophone Fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival, where he appeared with various orchestras and chamber ensembles, presented a solo recital, and performed several U.S. and world premieres. Sam continues to perform annually at the Aspen Music Festival as a first-call chamber and orchestral saxophonist.
These concerts are free to watch. They will initially stream at 6 pm MST (Mountain Standard Time) on the given date but don’t worry if you’re not living in the Rockies, they will remain available to view for three days following the live stream.
