Ukraine mourns composer who died on 3rd day of the war
UncategorizedThe National Union of Composers of Ukraine has turned out to mourn Hanna Gavrilets, who died of unknown cause on February 27.
Hanna, who was 64, was a professor of composition at the Kyiv Conservatoire.
The Russian composer Igor Morozov died on the same day. Wikipedia identifies him as a composer, poet … and KGB colonel. A macabre coincidence.
Wikipedia also lists Gavrilets as Havrylets, which seems the proper Ukrainian spelling.
No outrage? My mistake, it wasn’t a program that got replaced.
