The Aspen Music Festival and School, where I spend my summers, has created during the pandemic a series of concerts by musicians in the AMFS fold, both alumni and long-time performers. These beautifully filmed, curated one-hour concerts are free and viewable for three days each from the comfort of your own home.
At 6pm on Monday, Feb. 14 (scroll down on the Aspen website under Past Events), the American pianist Simone Dinnerstein performs two etudes and a sonata – Philip Glass Etude No. 16, Philip Glass Etude No. 2, and the Franz Schubert Piano Sonata in B-flat major, D. 960.
On the following day, Tuesday, Feb. 15, the dynamic young classical guitarist Colin Davin plays a wide-ranging programme of music by Price/Maryam Jajialigol, Leo Brouwer, Barrios Magore and J.S. Bach’s Partita No 2 in D minor, transcribed by Colin Davin.
Be aware that those times are notional in that 6pm US Mountain Time (8pm US ET, 1am UK) is out of reach to anyone trying to watch in other countries.
She is a wonderful pianist and musician….
Simone Dinnerstein, magnifica musicista!
