Unfortunately Chailly will not come at the beginning of March. It was the event of the season. But the choice of replacement is very good with Rouvali who did a fantastic work with the marvelous Goteborg Orchestra I like so much; it seems to fit well with the RCO. Sorry… english is not my first language. I mean that very frenquently the RCO asks some new conductors to come for one week and for two or three concerts. But after that very frequently they don’t ask a second time the same conductors to do some new concerts. in the case of Rouvali he did his first concets in December, that means that if they call him a second time it was Ok. For exemple also, Rattle was called only once by the RCO in the 80’s.
Toulouse has been playing to sold-out houses since September.
