Third job for Bram Tovey
NewsThe British conductor has been given a five-year contract as named Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra & Music School.
Tovey, 68, is also principal conductor of the BBC Concert Orchestra in London and music director of the Sarasota Orchestra.
Bramwell is also a most welcome annual conductor of “The Glorious Sounds of Christmas” concerts of The Philadelphia Orchestra. He even composed “The Rittenhouse Carol” dedicated to Philadelphia.
“Rittenhouse Carol”
Might wanna remame it now…
Not in Philly, where everyone will know the title refers to Rittenhouse Square, a few blocks from the Kimmel Center.
I love these talented servants of the muse who fly under the radar, spreading goodwill and wisdom as they go.

Doesn’t exactly sound like a high profile job.
