Throughout the pandemic the Metropolitan Opera made their archive available to audiences throughout the world and we had the opportunity to watch the most extensive library of great operas and legendary stars in our own homes. We still can, although now, unsurprisingly, we have to pay.
From old-school legends to today’s great stars, we can still experience more than 750 full-length Met performances from their online streaming service. The Met has been videoing their performances for many years and they are the experts. The production values of audio and video are second to none and their interval features and interviews are often fascinating.

I’m sure it’s wonderful, subscribing: there are quite a few wonderful restaurants (in New York). Some very special ones. I heard one can ask for the last surviving remnant of an endangered, almost extinct, species: and they kill it right there in front of you so you know the time of the extinction, before frying it up for your meal. Never’ve been to any of those, though. Can that at all be included?
