Famed Latvian composer dies of Covid
RIPThe death has been reported of Mārtiņš Brauns, one of Latvia’s most successful composers.
Admitted to hospital after a heart attack, he is alleged to have contracted Covid-19 despite being vaccinated and died under intensive care at the age of 70.
His chorus Saule, Pērkons, Daugava, is the country’s best known song, after the national anthem.
