The death has been reported of Mārtiņš Brauns, one of Latvia’s most successful composers.

Admitted to hospital after a heart attack, he is alleged to have contracted Covid-19 despite being vaccinated and died under intensive care at the age of 70.

His chorus Saule, Pērkons, Daugava, is the country’s best known song, after the national anthem.

“Despite being vaccinated”. B-b-b-ut it works, really it does!!

“Oh, but he had an ‘underlying condition'”!! Yes, it’s called ‘elderly’.

    • BRUCEB says:

      Always remember, everyone:

If any vaccine is less than 100% effective, that means it’s useless.

If any vaccine requires booster shots, that means it’s useless.

  • Joel Kemelhor says:

The music enhances the text, but the core of the current independence of a Latvian nation was the survival of the Latvian language in spite of Russian / Soviet political control.
