Death of famed French organist, 84
RIPThe unassuming Marcel Dupré pupil Jean-Claude Raynaud, who died on November 18, burst onto the international scene with a 1970s cycle of recordings of French music on the Vox label.
After seven years as head of vocal training at the Paris Opéra (1967-72), he became professor at the Conservatoire, where his students included Olivier Latry and Emmanuelle Haïm.
On Syndays, he was organistr at the Protestant church of the Annunciation in the 16th district of Paris.
