Colbert doesn’t mess around.
That Rococo Variations is really good.
What a marvelous young talent. I hope his career is well-managed, and I look forward to hearing more from him in the years ahead.
I’ve heard him live. He’s terrifically talented. A very good signing.
Sterling Elliott, Esther Yoo and Anne Akiko Meyers seem to be the only ones on that roster of Colbert getting concerts these days that actually sound fantastic. Bravo Sterling.
That Rococo performance is absolutely beautiful. Looking forward to hearing more from this young man.
I guess he noticed the success of Randall Goosby.
Seems like a nice Jewish boy.
I’m hearing him play Haydn with the Richmond (VA) Symphony next weekend.
The Theme is played ‘semplice,’ but absent dynamics and nuance. Not so sure why he performs the material three times in the same receptive manner, same flat sound, same articulation. He lost me from that point.
Agreed, failing to see why they are signing an undergrad student who plays well enough, but surely there are many who do just as well or better……. oh wait……..
Oh well.
Certainly not the style of years ago without audible connections (shifts) and other Russian inflections.
