Mont Blanc is one of the worlds most deadly mountains. But many guiding companies describe Mont Blanc as more of a “long walk” apparently.

If that’s what he liked then I wouldn’t knock him. It’s got to be a better way to go that having your guts rot slowly from cancer or having your brain fail from dementia over a period of years.
The guy was living his life the way he wanted. Everyone does something “stupid.” Life is made up of choices. Condolences to his family.
