Berlin Phil plays for Afghan refugee aid
NewsThe Berlin Philharmonic will share ticket revenues from its September 19 family concert with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
Kirill Petrenko will present the concert to the audience before conducting Stravinsky’s Firebird suite. The illustrator Reinhard Kleist will draw images along with the music as the concert proceeds and the resulting art will be put up for auction.
Yeah, yeah, neither here not there.
A lot more good would result if the Germans paid their fair share of a percentage of its GDP towards NATO.
“A lot more good would result if the Germans paid their fair share of a percentage of its GDP towards NATO.”
You say that now. And then it’s the same old story: No, invading Poland is bad… No, don’t invade France… 😉
But I think you’re right. You guys just showed us how you treat your allies (who followed you into war, like France and the UK). We definitively need a European Army.
Scheiben-Kleister
Muti should be very worried: with a blitz like this, Maestro Petrenko could steal the Nobel Peace Prize from under his very nose.
Sharing ticket revenue for a good cause is the classic flanking maneuver that Muti is ill-prepared for. After all, his Ravenna Roads of Friendship concerts have been fattening Muti’s family business accounts for – what – 20 years give or take?
Wonderful orchestra. Great philanthropic initiative.
Did they play for Germany’s floods victims aid?
“Did they play for Germany’s floods victims aid?”
You forget to ask if they played for [insert whatever you like here]. And [insert whatever you like here]. And [insert whatever you like here].
And how could you not mention [insert whatever you like here]?!?!?!?
Because it’s like donations: If you don’t donate to ALL organizations, you’re a bad, bad (BAD!) person and go straight to hell. True story.
Btw.: Did YOU play for Germany’s floods victims aid?
