Memories from childhood. They were pretty much “oldies” by the time I was exploring pop (Beatles, Stones, DC5, and the rest of the British Invasion) but I always appreciated great harmony, and these guys were great.
RIP.
The “oldies” are great and comforting music to listen too.
It is the kind of stuff that I am introducing now to my 5 year old son.
He absolutely loves, The Chordettes “lollipop”
(Actually, I grew up in the Green Day, Snoop Dogg era though)
To see them live was an experience.
They opened with the song Kentucky.
WOW
I saw him solo. and with his brother when they got back together. when they sang
I have never heard such amazing harmony
I adore these guys. Fabulous music.
Hope thy can make up their differences together in the afterlife. RIP.

Now they are Gone, Gone, Gone.
Boudleaux Bryant who wrote many of their hits (and who played violin in the Nashville Symphony) said it was like writing for two Stradivarius.
Lovely thought…. thanks, Julian.
Yes. In live performance it was like hearing two strands of the same voice, a sort of double helix.
Also I grew up to their music, and tried to emulate them in my teens. They really were among the best
But did anyone read the obit?
