Bayreuth won’t be full again until 2024
NewsRichard Wagner Association international president Rainer Fineske has said he does not expect the Bayreuth Festival to play to full capacity before 2023/24.
He told the Nordbayerischer Kurier: ‘We have to think positively.’ Opera attendance will only be possible ‘if you are healthy, careful, vaccinated and keep your distance.’

Or if they can find, at the very least, good enough singers. Or if they can find, at the very least, a way to rein in directors running amok. Or better yet, both.
