Librettist dies, 88
NewsThe composer and inventor Peter Zinovieff, author of the libretto for Birtwistle’s Mask of Orpheus, has died after a fall. The opera is one of the most important British creations of the late 20th century.
Zinovieff was better known as the founder of Electronic Music Studios, maker of synthesisers for the rock and pop elite.
Obit here.
Was he a composer (text) or librettist (headline), or both?
Oh, never mind; I missed his work as librettist of “Mask for Orpheus”.
