Yuja lines up another world premiere
mainAfter John Adams in LA, she’s getting her fingers around a piano concerto by Teddy Abrams, music director in Louisville.
From the PR stuff:
Formerly a classmate of Abrams at the Curtis Institute of Music, she appeared with the orchestra in 2017 – the same year she was named “Artist of the Year” by Musical America – to celebrate its 80th anniversary with a rapturously received performance of Rachmaninoff’s Fourth Piano Concerto. She performs the world premiere of Abrams’s new Piano Concerto, written expressly for her, on a program that also includes Rachmaninoff’s Tchaikovsky-inspired Symphony No. 2 (Jan 8).
It sounds like a great program to me. Yuja will, of course, play this new work superbly.
In bocca di lupo, Yuja!!!!

Great to have new music being written. Let’s hope it isn’t pastiche, but a piece written by a composer with his own voice.
Yes, but it depends on what this voice has to say.
She even looks hot in a mask 😉
