mainThe entrepreneurial Quebec conductor Nicolas Ellis has been awarded the Mécénat Musica Prix Goyer, Canada’s biggest music prize.
Ellis, 29, founded the Agora orchestra in Montreal and has been assistant conductor at the Orchestre symphonique de Québec.
Also Conductor in residence at the Orchestre Métropolitain. Great talent.
God I hate the new design for this site. So much wasted blank space and so little of the text for each thumbnail. There’s just this narrow range where the images for each story appear. Otherwise they don’t display The new design really s***s. I find myself checking the site less because of frustrating it is.
Add slow to load even on hi-speed broadband. And why would anyone want to see the most popular posts highlighted when we are individuals with our own views? Imagine deciding to pay for this.
That’s $125,000 Canadian, I presume. I hope he puts it to good use!
Great news!! Congratulations. Winners are grinners.
