Leipzig’s famous Gewandhaus becomes a Covid test centre
OrchestrasOne of the world’s most historic concert venues is being converted into a centre for rapid Covid tests this week as the pandemic shows no sign of abating in the eastern half of Germany, and vaccinations remain critically in short supply.
The Gewandhaus foyer will offer rapid antigen and PCR laboratory tests, among other essentials.
The music has died in Leipzig for the moment.
