The violinist has pulled out of a series of recitals in South Korea, due to an unspecified hand injury.

Kyng-Wha, 73, has been giving a limited number of concerts since 2010 after a five-year career break in 2005 resulting from a damaged index finger.

I wish nothing but best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery to this brilliant musician.
    Good luck, Ms. Chung!!!!

  • E says:

That is a pity. I still remember concerts she played in
Paris in the 1990’s — pure fire.

  • Mystic Chord says:

I still feel ‘traumatized’ by witnessing Ms Chung’s fearsome treatment of the coughing child during her Festival Hall comeback in 2014. The tension in the hall was almost unbearable. A wonderful violinist on her day though with some classic recordings to her name, it’s a shame this unfortunate scene will be a lasting memory.

    • Zandonai says:

I was there and I will side with Chung. It’s bad parenting pure and simple to bring young kids unaccustomed to the protocols of classical music concerts. I will say the same about a lot of clueless adults too. In Japan, they know how to behave at classical concerts.

  • Zandonai says:

Wow she looks pretty good for 73.

  • Robert Roy says:

Very sad news. Good luck to her and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  • Alma Regina says:

Honestly, at 73, it is high time to step down und let talented and highly professional youth get more opportunities to present themselves! Especially in these difficult times! (And now, the shitstorm will break from the fence…)
