Sad to see that in our times “allegations” are enough to ruin someone’s career.
    Liberal’s dream!

    • Emil says:

And we’re just going to gloss over the fact that he both resigned (he wasn’t fired!) and apologised, are we?

      • Sue Sonata Form says:

It’s the kind of grovelling that fearful people did in the old Soviet era and in modern China and North Korea. Point the finger, then grovel and promise to ‘re-educate’ yourself. Thank you, ‘liberals’ (?), for your freedom of expression, thought and action. Alan Dershowitz talks disturbingly about this all the time.

The barbarians are in charge. All that’s missing are the uniforms – but they’ll come soon enough.

        • True North says:

          Thank you for that, Sue.

Now please also tell us again about:
          1) “Those brave boys in the Battle of Britain.” 2) “Personal responsibility.”
          3) “The elderly should be sacrificed to COVID for the good of the economy.”

Then I’ll have won my round of silly old duffer bingo for today.

        • Emil says:

It’s very convenient, isn’t it, being able to dismiss everything without ever accepting any evidence, no matter how credible. If they apologise, they’ve been coerced. If they don’t it shows they’re victims of a witch hunt.
There isn’t ever any standard of proof that would be credible enough for you, short of literally catching someone in the act (personally, of course; you wouldn’t trust someone else, would you?). And that, of course, is by design – it allows to protect anyone for anything.
As for using Alan Dershowitz as an authority on denying sex scandals in which one is embroiled…well I guess he knows what he’s talking about!

        • Greg Bottini says:

Alan Dershowitz is one of Trump’s attorneys.
          Enough said.

    • Anon says:

He should have given daily televised press conferences about Covid-19.

    • yujafan says:

Anyone labelling themselves “Dr Droopy” really doesn’t inspire admiration in this debate. If there were victims (and it seems there were) the focus should be on them, not the perpetrator – who should face the music legally and professionally for his actions. If you claim to be sorry or respect others after the fact, then your actions should have shown it earlier. It’s called decency, not a “liberal’s dream”. End of.

  • Francesca says:

What is a convenient method to eliminate undesirables!

  • RW2013 says:

“Ah! don’t smile like that! No-one should be smiled at like that.”
