  • Good. I will watch. But I don’t want something of 90mn I want something long in several parts like The last waltz or SanPa the best documentary I saw on Netflix.

  • E Rand says:

Big fan of ANY high-quality and high-visible production for classical music. Its only sad I’m surprised this is happening at all.

  • JussiB says:

Any musicologist in the credits? Ron Howard’s Pavarotti biopic was pretty good.

  • Jan Kaznowski says:

Perhaps, to avoid disappointing people in the way I was, the title should say “LB doc *WILL* go straight to N/Flix”.
The way SD has phrased it got my hopes up and it sounded like it was ready for distribution.

  • To the makers of this film, if not too late, I hope you add things not already commonly know, such as how Lee Konitz and Bernstein were friends, Konitz being the specific jazz influence for West Side Story, including how Lenny told Lee the song, “Cool”, was inspired by him.

  • M2N2K says:

It is not going to be either “doc” or “biodoc”. The recent movie about Pavarotti directed by Ron Howard could be called a “doc”umentary. With Bradley Cooper as Bernstein and Carey Mulligan as his wife, this future movie entitled “Maestro” will definitely be a “docudrama” or possibly “biopic” – a very different animal.

    • V.Lind says:

Yes — biodoc is a new term, and subject perhaps to misinterpretation. It has been previewed as a docudrama on film/TV sites.

  • William Lansbury says:

As someone who got to sing in the Ravinia Production of his Mass for his centennial twice with Maestro Alsop I am very excited!

  • Movie buff says:

We will watch it on the OK dot ru network, which is free.

  • Sue Sonata Form says:

The only thing which sounds remotely promising about this is Bradley Cooper!!

  • Bio doc.
So it’s not a *bio pic* with an actor playing Bernstein, right?

  • A Pianist says:

Ten years ago I would have been looking forward to this. Now I just ask myself “in what cringe-inducing way will they insert wokism into it.” But there are always surprises…

  • Kaufman says:

To whome did Caruso say if you were in Opera,I would be out of a job…this in 1932 (?)
    Kwartin,Sirota,Kussavitzki ?

  • Mari says:

Wrong actor. Should have Oscar Isaac playing Lenny.
