The international opera singer Leonard Andrzej Mróz has died of an undisclosed cause.

A stalwart of Warsaw’s Grand Theatre, he performed all over Europe and at Carnegie Hall.

    This is a great loss! He was an extraordinary Pimen, one of the best. His performance is immortalized in the great Semkow recording, with Talvela as Boris and Haugland as Varlaam. One of the finest cast of bassos ever assembled outside of Bayreuth!
