Bayreuth’s other festival will go ahead
mainThe new Bayreuth Baroque opera festival has been confirmed for early September in the Margrave’s Opera House.
Highlights include a premiere of Nicola Antonio Porpora’s “Carlo il Calvo” and Leonardo Vinci’s “Gismondo, Re di Polonia”. Both audiences and performers will be required to wear masks.

Baroque masks? Covid-customized Venetian carnival masks? That would be funny.
It’s a beautiful theatre but the seating is very close so I don’t suppose many will be able to view safely in person.
Right but the stage in profound the Berliner gave a concert there two years ago with Jarvi son. But I suppose It’s hard to play an Eine Alpensinfonie there…
