This sort of information they may as well announce after the end of this global crisis. At the moment , when we are at the risk of being confined to our homes, when shops are empty of increasing number of products, including food, all one could think of is to survive the coming months. If they close down public transport and shops as well, we may not die of Corona virus but of starvation.

But in some ways, it can be of enormous benefit to all of us to NOT dwell on Covid-19 24/7, and to remain aware of the beauty of the Arts in our lives….. even if it is news about an orchestra we’ve never even heard of…..
There is plenty of food for everyone, the shops are not about to run out (even if they are finding it difficult to keep up with the hoarders).
I have no reason to doubt that he’s a capable conductor but I’m reminded of Kenneth Woods’ hilarious spoof press release about a conductor who’s suddenly decided he’s a world-class instrumentalist….
