Japanese wins ARD cello competition

The ARD contest which occasionally yields major talent has been won by the Japanese cellist Haruma Sato.

He’s 21.

    second prize was given to the equally exceptional cellist Friedrich Thiele, who touched musicians and the audience with a unique and very personal interpretation of Schumann s cello concerto.
