…Yawn
What else is new?
Give this young man some credit for his great talent and poise. What were you doing when you were 11 years old burt? Learning to tie your shoes?
Jealous?
I smile whenever I watch this young man. He’s the real deal!
Looking forward to hearing him play with the Aust Brandenburg Ensemble in the near future.
Lives in Australia, sure; but he has been brought up by Asian ‘tiger’ parents who have a totally different set of expectations for their children. I’ve taught Asian kids in high school and their parents were mostly extremely hard on them. “Why didn’t you come first in the class?” was the standard question the majority of these kids heard. My spine chills when I see yet another Asian child perform because I know what’s often behind it.
So you know his parents personally Sue? Have you consider that this kid has a passion for music? I don’t think he would go this far without it. Why not generalize about Jewish mothers? Heifetz, Milstein, Menuhin, all had demanding mothers too I bet.
