Composer steps up when singers fall sick
mainThere has been something of an epidemic at the London show Six, featuring the unhappy wives of Henry VIII (name them if you can).
Maiya Quansah-Breed, who usually plays Catherine Parr, was on leave this week. Her two standbys came down with colds and the final understudy was already standing in for Jane Seymour.
Call the composer.
For two nights, Toby Marlow sang his own songs on stage.
He tweeted:
Today was one of a kind (LOL!😅). THANK U to the everyone at the arts, and to all the backstage team and to the QUEENS👑 for working together so amazingly today to make sure we could put on a show. you all made me feel so supported, and ur all very nice and talented and I fancy u https://t.co/MhZqJeAD3W

Isn’t “I fancy u” a bit improper and contra metoo??
His spelling is pretty good…I wonder though why he can’t spell “you” and “you’re”…
