I’m delighted you’ve come round to a more positive view of Musicology, Norman. Previous posts in which you commented on it were pretty splenetic, as were those of your supporters. Puzzling, for it is a field for musicians and scholars and need not bother music bloggers and journalists. For your notable right-wing following, I suspect they simply discerned in it something to attack on political grounds, having read little to none of the actual literature. So, this is encouraging.
