The National Orchestra of Spain has upgraded David Afkham from principal conductor to artists director.
It’s enough of a status rise to keep the German baton in Spain for an extra term. Afkham, 35, has been with the orchestra since 2014.

Spain seems to be a good amount of symphonic energy these days. NOS, Valle, Galicia, Granada… Very refreshing to see and hear.
