Jun-Ching Lin has been named concertmaster of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.

He is the first signing for new music director, Julian Kuerti.

A Boston pal of Yo-Yo Ma’s, Jun-Ching Lin has been concertmaster of Atlanta Opera and guest concertmaster with the Florida, Fort Worth, Kalamazoo, and Phoenix symphonies, before finally settling on upwardly mobile Kalamazoo.

The former Covent Garden and Kennedy Center director has a new job – as  interim executive director of the San Antonio Symphony.

He may prove hard to dislodge.
