Sicklist: Murray Perahia cancels US spring tour
mainMessage from LA:
Due to an unexpected illness, Murray Perahia has cancelled his entire American tour for this Spring. He was scheduled to be part of this year’s festival, performing on April 28th at Chenery Auditorium. The Gilmore is planning on rescheduling Mr. Perahia for the Spring of 2019 as part of our Piano Masters Series.
This follows the cancellation of a whole series of concerts that were planned in Asia in March. Hope that he’ll be well again soon.
On 23rd February he cancelled a performance in Singapore scheduled for 8th March. This latest news sounds quite serious. I wish him a speedy recovery.
(I am still waiting for my ticket price to be refunded, but that’s no fault of Mr Perahia or his team. It’s down to inefficiency at SISTIC, the ticket agency that has a stranglehold on virtually all events in Singapore).
Hopefully, he’ll recover soon ! Best wishes & prayers for a great musician !
Have always admired his talent. Hoping for a speedy recovery from whatever ails him.
He also canceled in January a series of concerts with the Israel PO as soloist and conductor (Zukerman replaced him)
…I just discovered you through your 1987 recording of Beethoven Piano Concertos No’s 3,4…whilst searching for your concert/recital dates/locations I saw that you were temporarily under the weather…now waiting patiently…a speedy & SOUND recovery to you…
Hope my former classmate at Mannes gets well soon. I know how frustrating a slipped disk can be. Hope you have a chance to revisit scores you would not usually have a chance to study, perhaps see your current studies of Beethoven autograph notes of draft manuscripts bear fruit, and are back on the concert circuit in America soon. see you at Strathmore, concert hall soon, I hope

Your many admirers worldwide will wish you a speedy (and permanent) recovery.
