Igor Matvienko, a Putin’s campaign aide, has issued a pop video, ‘Vova Vova’, about three young women mooning for their president and, er, grooming for him.

The video has been viewed more than a million times in four days.

    Surreal.

Fabulous! I’d love to see Frau Merkel’s version.

You’re all just so envious in the UK since Sharia law now rules the land. Better peek out your window one more time to make sure the Thought Police didn’t see you watch this video for the tenth time.

    • John Rook says:

      How true.

      • Elizabeth Owen says:

It’s probably a good idea for you both to just comment when you know what you are talking about.

        • John Rook says:

A touch pompous, don’t you think?

          • TonyF12 says:

No. Sad some of our American friends think this way. Where do you get this rubbish from? Watching too much Fox News I guess.

Knowing what you are talking about is so passe. So 20th century.

What saddens me is the obvious ‘renting out’ of your mind to the Haters of the Fox Channel(s). This Network , though younger than any of the ‘staid’ old timers as NBC, CBS, ABC (and their illi_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ relative, MSNBC) is as *high-standing* AND popular as any of them. And when it achieves the gray-haired status of its‘compatriots, it will have long surpassed them in popularity and achievement (IF they haven’t already).

Naturally, the ‘folks’ who watch-listen to only the well-known long-standing channels as mentioned would not know this, especially if so easily susceptible to the ‘blather’ of those who know nothing about it, other than what they read from the mouths of conservative-hating ultra-liberals.
With innumerable top-notch commentators, it (Fox) pays no ‘homage’ to any of its ‘brethren’ or ‘sisters’ news shows. I don’t urge anyone to listen to the higher-class minds of folks like Charles Krauthammer, Chris Wallace (son of the (“in”) famous deceased ‘Mike’ Wallace), Greg Jarrett, Brett Baier, Newt Gingrich, Mara Liasson, Jeannine Pirro, Laura Ingraham, and countless others. Mainly because, as I see it, as popular as they are, they are in no need of additional listeners to keep their shows afloat.
Personally, I can’t imagine my listening regularly (because I do stop by occasionally) to any *real* news shows other than the ones on Fox, although I do periodically visit CNN’s ‘best’ shows.

            @Gerrie Collins

Are you by chance the Gerrie Collins from Florida (I think it was) who used to be on the yahoo The Piano list moderated by Val?

  • Sharon says:

They resort to this because they have nothing positive to say about his leadership or how he has improved life in Russia. However I once had a student colleague who worked as a paid employee on a political campaign and ended up not voting for the candidate. She said after actually getting to know him she realized what a jerk he was.
Similarly, I wonder if the actual creator/director of the video might be subtly trying to undermine Putin through satire while telling Matvienko that this will increase Putin’s sex appeal.
I don’t mind viewing this but I wonder why this is being shown and considered a thread on a classical music blog–the “music” on the video is clearly very substandard even to my very untrained ear

  • Roger Lebow says:

Can anyone tell me if this is the Haas or Nowak edition?

    • Insert Real Name says:

No, the composer suffered a tragic “accident”, and the composition was completed by the Musicology Directorate of the FSB for this posthumous peformance.

      • Furzwängler says:

        An accident with Novichok, perchance?

        • Gerrie Collins says:

A reply to a FURZWÄNGLER question of March 18:

“Are you by chance the Gerrie Collins from Florida (I think it was) who used to be on the yahoo The Piano list moderated by Val?”

          Yes.

          • Furzwängler says:

It’s Adrian, the ardent Lisztian from the former ‘The Piano’ yahoo group, when people like Ferrari and Rick Robertson were still on it and it was still fun, and when there were many interesting discussions.

Your definition of porn is a bit off, maybe it’s valid in Utah though. Obviously this is a persiflage, making fun of some of Putin’s peculiarities and oddities.
The fishing. His fluency in German. etc. Nothing sinister, some self depreciating humor if anything.

  • Burton says:

I wondered whether ANON would jump in to explain/justify/minimize/deflect the latest sad/absurd/tragic reports out of Russia. Like clockwork here he is (replete with references to “Utah” no less). Nice work man! Well done! Extremely persuasive!
