Ever since Kirill Petrenko landed the Berlin Philharmonic, the agency to be with, or around, has been Michael Lewin’s in Vienna. It’s a boutique agency with busy, well placed maestros like Petrenko, Philippe Jordan, Sebastian Weigle and Simone Young.

Today, the Arsis wing of Lewin’s agency signed Yoel Gamzou, an Israeli of 29 who is in his first music director’s post at Theater Bremen. Watch that career start to move.

Might be different for singers… follow Regina Schörg’s fate!

Nonsense! And what is with the singers Lewin was or is still working since more than 25 years????
Johan Botha, Deborah Polaski, Falk Struckmann, Kwangchul Youn, Michaela Schuster, Wolfgang Koch and many more! Not many Managers around today where singers survive longer in the job…

Also, Gamzou did write his own elaboration of the sketches of Mahler X at a young age, which is really an impressive feat.

Agreed, a remarkable achievement. There’s a video online of him conducting his completion. It’s very fine. I think he must have lost five pounds during the performance. He is dignified and dry when the symphony starts, and drenched and disheveled when it end, his shirt tail hanging out and his hair plastered to his head. It’s quite a ride.
