A leading violinist is robbed in Paris
mainThe violinist and conductor Julien Chauvin has put out an appeal for the recovery of instruments that were stolen from him yesterday in Paris.
Julien, founder of Le Cercle de l’Harmonie and Concert de la Loge Olympique, issued the following message:
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My violin was stolen this morning
Giuseppe Rocca 1839
And Marie’s viola
Yair Hod Fainas
Many bows including these
Please be aware and forward largely!!!
Presumably he still has the Stainer:
“Julien Chauvin plays a Baroque violin by Jacob Stainer from 1670 (formerly the ex-Mozart-Wranitzki), on loan from a patron of the arts, and a Romantic violin by Giuseppe Rocca from 1839, in the framework of the ‘Adopt-a-Musician’ project”
