Mahler scholar dies on the composer’s birthday
mainWe have been informed of the death of Susan M Filler, a musicologist at Northwestern University who published Gustav and Alma Mahler: A Research and Information Guide(1989; 2nd edition, 2008) and Compendium of American Musicology: Essays in honor of John F. Ohl (1999).
She died of cancer on July 7, the composer’s 157th birthday. Susan was 69.
