Happy days (2): Alison Balsom cancels, pregnant
mainAn elegant cancellation at the Wigmore Hall:
We are delighted to hear the news that Alison Balsom is pregnant and fully understands that she is unable to proceed with some of her concerts during this time.
Alison married the film director Sam Mendes in January.
Sam Mendes wife wear chichilla fur coat.
And what’s the problem with that?
If you look at this photo, which is much clearer, you will see that the coat is not fur at all: http://assets2.classicfm.com/2015/09/alison-balsom-at-paddington-station4-1425470507-view-1.jpg
Has there been any study on the effect of brass playing on pregnancy? I wonder if players have to go easy while pregnant.
Only oboe players.
I don’t think playing trumpet is a problem at all. Its most likely the strain of touring.
Maybe she’s suffering from morning sickness.
This is rather old news. I had tickets for this concert and was notified of the cancellation, and the reason for it, weeks ago!
Well that’s great. I hadn’t heard of it until this post.
It is not morning sickness or the strain of touring. She does not mind touring Germany and USA.

Germany and the USA? There are many UK dates here. Perhaps she has a procedure or such on the one canceled date. Pregnancy is a big deal, medically for anyone, trumpet or not.
