Chipperfield wins contest to build Scotland’s concert hall
mainFashionable and controversial, David Chipperfield Architects have beaten off tough competition to win the design contract for Edinburgh’s £45 million hall for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
The losers on the shortlist were David Adjaye, Richard Murphy, KPMB (Toronto), Barozzi Veiga from Switzerland and Cambridge’s Allies and Morrison.
No sign yet of the winning design.
Here’s where the hall will go up:
Not holding my breath waiting for Geffen to be done…..
Ummm…Chipperfield is not the architect for Geffen. Thomas Heatherwick is.
My mistake. Chips was building the Metropolitan Museum extension, which has been put on hold.
Heatherwick is not an architect, much as he likes to market himself as one.
