The mezzo-soprano who makes porn films
mainAdrineh Simonian was a prominent singer at the Vienna Volksoper from 2001 to 2014.
She sang Carmen, Cherubino, Donna Elvira and most of the frontline mezzo-soprano roles.
Then she changed career.
For the past year, Adrineh has been directing what she calls ‘experimental feminist porn films’.
It might be a comedy act. See for yourselves.

…have never heard about that prominent world class singer …. shame on me … the only query I still have “in store” – isn’t it too late to talk about sex at this age ? she looks more like a “madame” at some massage salon in this blog than Marylin Monroe speaking of love … everything should have its own aesthetic constituent …. just my opinion, of course 🙂
When did the comments on this blog become so nasty (specifically, so nasty about women)? Who are you to say that women above a certain age (whatever age you determine) are too old to talk about sex? Have you not seen that there has been a lot of coverage in the media recently about the proportion of people (men and women) aged from their 60s to their 80s who remain sexually active and, more importantly, how much they enjoy it? I don’t know how old Adrineh Simonian is. Apparently she was born “before 1977”, so I guess she is in her early 40s. She certainly doesn’t look any older than that. Do you really find it so difficult to believe that a woman of her age (which is not even particularly old) is still interested in sex and not embarrassed to talk about it? I’d love to know why it is that you have a problem with this. Are you just intimidated by sexually confident women? Do you find mature women in some way disgusting? I wonder whether you feel the same way about the late Rt Hon. Alan Clark, MP, who continued to publish accounts of his career as a prolific adulterer almost until the very end of his life. Frankly, if this woman wants to make pornography, and if it is better, morally and artistically, than the vast majority of what currently exists, then good luck to her, and may she continue in this venture into old age should she so wish.
A brief PS. Isn’t it pretty offensive to say that a woman looks like a brothel madam? It’s just a variation on the recent comments comparing Khatia Buniatishvili to a prostitute. I really do despair at the level of comment that this blog is receiving recently.
….so what was all that rant about ? still waiting even a tiny word on Marilyn Monroe please 🙂 cheers, Mr.Davidson, and have a nice day 🙂
That “rant” was about your unpleasant comments about this woman.
I just noted that the article does state that she is 44. So 44 is too old for a woman to talk about sex? Michael Douglas was 70 when he made his infamous comments about his partiality to cunnilingus having caused his cancer (followed by some bizarre comment about cunnilingus also being a cure for cancer), apparently causing considerable embarrassment to his wife. Anyway, 44-year-old women are past it, sexually, and can be compared with brothel madams. Misogyny really is alive and well on Slippedisc these days.
…so are sanctimonious diatribes, apparently.
I’d rather be accused of posting sanctimonious diatribes than sexism, misogyny, and ageism.
Well, if she asked around I am sure she could find colleagues willing to join in.
would you ? 🙂 🙂 🙂
I know Adrineh, I’ve worked with her a few times. Excellent singer, lovely person.
Good for her.
Rock on girl!
it seems like comedy, although/and the idea “most people don’t know anything about sex” is comical in itself — there’s not THAT much to know and most people find out re it/have it pretty early on in life.
and I really don’t think she was asking people to comment on whether they found her sex’y attractive, or what her “pull” would be, generally!!
