A new edition of The Song of Names
mainI have just received the Russian edition of my first novel and it is by far the most beautiful that I have seen.
Slightly larger than palm-sized, the print is cleaner than the UK, US and other language editions, the paper is smooth and the temptation to turn pages is irresistible. A Russian friend assures me that the translation, by Vladimir Golyshev and Olesya Kachanova, is idiomatic and immaculate.
Few editions of my work have given me such instant pleasure.

Congratulations, Norman! How many translations of your novel exist at this time?
I had not heard of this novel…. congratulations to NL, writing a novel is quite a different challenge from music journalism. Concluding from the reviews, the book should be obligatory reading for concert agents. For Russians, it may be an eye opener to the “music business” in the West.
I have read two of Norman’s Russian translations about 15 years ago. http://www.labirint.ru/books/157108/

It was a kind of revelation for the whole Russian speaking musical community. We were quite naive in those days))
