Maestro move: Finn takes German orchestra
mainThe rising Finn Pietari Inkinen is to be chief conductor of the merged Deutsche Radio Philharmonie of Saarbrücken and Kaiserslautern.
The orchestra, formerly led by Karel Mark Chichon, regularly performs in France, Luxembourg and Belgium as well as across a swathe of Germany.
Inkinen, 36, is also chief conductor of the Japan Philharmonic and Prague Symphony.
Like most Finn musicians, he started playing piano at age four.
A “Finn” is the proper term for a person from Finland or even of Finnish descent. However, the adjective form of the word is “Finnish” as in “Like most Finnish musicians.”
Kiitos

So, are you actually saying that it should have been written with the addition of 2 commas: “The rising Finn, Pietari Inkinen, is to be [the] chief conductor…”?
Try to read again.
All the best for him. We enjoyed having him with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
Perhaps the new role gives him an excuse to record another Sibelius cycle.
