Here’s to hearing her tonight at the Proms… and one of the others too!
Imagine a piano duo concert with Argerich and Pollini!!!
Actually, Pollini has lost his mojo of late. Take a look at him with the Berliners on the Digital Concert Hall. I heard him in Vienna in 2011 playing Schubert D960 and I was underwhelmed (to say the least of it).
I was in Lucerne yesterday and my historic moment there was a wonderful Dvorak programme by Weilerstein, Haitink and the COE. I didn’t manage to see the three genious of the photo among the audience. Pity for them if they weren’t there. The concert was exceptional.
and did you buy tickets from 250 and 300 euro? absolutely absurd to pay these prizes for a concert with a overestimate conductor….sick sick music world
Hey, how come everyone’s aging except me?
Yes, and Pollini looks years and years older than my own husband of the same age. That’s smoking for you!!
All three seem to have more hand joint degeneration (mallet fingers, etc) than the usual person at their age – random probably inaccurate observation. Then really shocking to see Pollini still killing Chopin etudes, Argerich playing Bach suites, and Barenboim/Beethoven, older than my present self, and better than when I was 15.
