      Correct. Interestingly, this English song is claimed by “Anthony Corleone” to be an authentic Sicilian song (in Godfather II – if I remember right). The translation into Italian goes back to early 70ies and was done by Gianni Boncompagni. The Italian version seams to be more attractive to singers. At least I am aware of the Italian version sung by Placido Domingo, Roberto Alagna and – er – Paul Potts.

      Jonas Kaufmann gave this song as an encore at the Gala in Baden Baden, recently. I am not sure whether the full video (including a nice version of “E lucevan le stelle”) is available from abroad: http://www.3sat.de/mediathek/?mode=play&obj=60824.
