Baton handover: Dohnanyi is replaced by Masur jr.
mainMessage from Tanglewood:
Conductor Christoph von Dohnányi, who was scheduled to conduct the Boston Symphony Orchestra concert this Saturday, July 16 and a portion of the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra concert on Monday, July 18, has, with great regret, been forced to withdraw from these performances due to complications following recent cataract surgery. BSO Assistant Conductor Ken-David Masur will replace Maestro von Dohnányi for both concerts. The programs remain the same.
Maestro Von Dohnányi is still planning to conduct the season-ending performance with the BSO at Tanglewood of Beethoven 9 on August 28.
