Rotters pluck Israeli concertmaster from Berlin Phil
mainHed Yaron Mayersohn of the Berlin Philharmonic Akademie, has arrived as assistant concertmaster of the Rotterdam Philharmonic. Hed, who is 27, has been an academy member since 2013.

Deceptive journalism. The Akademie isn’t intended to produce musicians specifically for the Berlin Phil; a few eventually make it in the orchestra, but not most. In no way was he “plucked” from the Berlin Phil. And he wasn’t a concertmaster until he got the Rotterdam job.
Additionally, musicians’ time at the academy is 2 years; Yaron-Mayersohn hasn’t been a member of the Berlin Phil Orchestra Academy for more than a year now.
