Can someone please write a Trump aria “My wall will be different” ?
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/28/upshot/what-history-teaches-us-about-walls.html
What is “Brexit” but building a wall by any other name?
If the US had a Chunnel separating us from Mexico, if the US could pay the Mexican government to maintain a Calais-like refugee camp on the other side of that Chunnel, if the US could rely on Mexico to erect fences all along the entrance into the Chunnel, if the US could count on Mexico to shut down the Chunnel every time groups of migrants run into the Chunnel…
Brexit is not about building another wall, for goodness sake! I am old enough to remember when there was no EU or even Common Market. Most of Europe dislike us in many ways and always have – our history is completely different. But now that we’re threating to get out and rule ourselves, and fifth richest economy, they are all over us. How fickle is that! You can’t compare Donald Trump and Mexico with Britain – and most certainly not England. People have the right to choose and, in the end, will accept the vote of the British people – who aren’t stupid. There is a choice and the way it should be.
I completely agree. Please leave; it was a mistake to let the UK join the European communities in the first place. President DeGaulle was absolutely correct, and so was Prime Minister Churchill. A close partnership yes, but EU membership no.
Scotland, however, will be welcomed with open arms once *they* use their right to choose and then remain in the EU. Of course, the rest of the UK will *still* have to abide by European regulations if they want to do business inside the EU. Just ask Norway and Switzerland. They take over virtually all EU regulations but have no say in formulating them. Works fine for both sides. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
dying alone. sorry, but “britannia don’t rule the ways” anymore…
More of a “Trumperetta” — lighter on substance, and shorter 🙂
Wow. That’s really funny.
Said absolutely no one.
Sad is the person who can’t laugh.
I laugh often at things which are funny. This wasn’t. Perhaps it’s just Canadian humor.
Actually I thought it was funny.
Other lines that must be used:
“Well, somebody’s doing the raping.”
“There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”
Isn’t the Donald more like a Verdian Falstaff?
Oh, ho! Donald Trump opera – what a hoot! And that hair!!! Wonderful part for any chorus to be in! Wait and see who will write it. ENO the ideal company to put it on!
Excellent and rather spine-chilling entr’acte featuring the voices of Trump and Obama on the live stream of our “Crime and Punishment” at 21:30 here: http://www.tete-a-tete.org.uk/crime-and-punishment/
