Australian thief steals three violas, a violin and a cello
mainThe instruments were taken from a parked car in Kew, east Melbourne, on Sunday morning.
They include a 1960 Leandro Bisiach viola, a 1913 Romeo Antoniazzi Cremonese Series A Cre and a French Claude LeBlanc viola dated 1840.
If you see them call Melbourne Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
Better find those violas before the thief puts them in his fireplace…
To lose one instrument may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose five looks like carelessness.
Clearly Australia is a musically deprived place, if a thief is under the impression that a viola – much less three – has any economic value.
“Where’s that jolly jumbuck you’ve hidden in that viola case?”
