Simply funny how this great musician does not care about the big names. Or cares too much in order to get himself into the troubles of the big orchestras. He is in this Berlin, instead the other Berlin. And very sadly so. He would have been a great fit after Rattle’s period, which, to my mind, was a very good one.
I feel Petrenko will not last long at the BPO, its mismatch, he will walk early. Ivan Fischer would have been a great choice.
