London agency is signing artists wholesale
mainIn the past couple of months, AskonasHolt have taken on:
Karina Canellakis (conductor)
Anatoli Sivko (bass)
Stanislav Kochanovsky and Nicholas Carter (conductors)
Johannes Moser (cellist)
Oliver Johnston, Otar Jorjikia, Dmytro Popov and Gyula Rab, (tenors)
Alison Balsom (trumpet).
Today they added Antonello Manacorda (conductor).
Who’s next?
Interesting. I’d accept a call seeing I am actually exploring options for UK/Euro management.
Me!
The question is if these are just scalps on a belt or if the artists will be allotted serious managerial attention.
Given their current list of clients, I would have to assume the level of satisfaction is high. There do not seem to have been rumours of upheavals and internecine battles at Askonas Holt while other agencies implode. So they may project stability and attentiveness to the artists and reliability to managements.
Indeed, and many artists have been with them for a long time, some of them before making it big. Piotr Anderszewski comes to mind, but there are many other cases. Just because there is a tendency in this blog to bash agencies (among others), doesn’t mean they are all rotten. Every field has its good and bad people.
Dmitri Hvorostovsky, for another. A.t least 20 years
